We are delighted to invite you to the second Nazarbayev University Annual Research Conference (NUARC-2025), a dynamic event bringing together researchers, scholars, and students from Kazakhstan and beyond. This year’s theme, "Empowering Innovation: Nurturing Kazakhstan’s Next Gen Researchers" highlights the vital role of faculty engagement and hands-on experience in shaping future innovators.

NUARC-2025 offers a rich program of poster presentations, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Participants will gain valuable insights, enhance research skills, collaborate on new ideas, and reflect on challenges and opportunities in academia.

As society increasingly relies on research-driven solutions, fostering a supportive environment where experienced faculty mentor emerging researchers is more critical than ever. NUARC-2025 provides a unique platform for interdisciplinary exchange, welcoming experts, thought leaders, and developing researchers alike.

Join us for three days of thought-provoking discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking as we work together to advance research and innovation in Kazakhstan and beyond!

PANEL 2:
The Role of Foreign Universities in Shaping Kazakhstan’s Research Ecosystem
14:30-16:00, 17/09/2025
Venue: Block C3, Red Hall
The growing presence of foreign universities in Kazakhstan offers a unique opportunity to broaden student options, promote international collaboration, and contribute to national research and development goals. However, their integration into the local academic ecosystem and alignment with national priorities remain underdiscussed. This panel will bring together experts representing diverse models of foreign university engagement in Kazakhstan, from independent institutions to branch campuses and international partnerships. Through a moderated discussion, the panel will explore two key questions: What role do different models of foreign universities play in advancing research in Kazakhstan? How can these models collaborate to strengthen the national research ecosystem? By examining both the challenges and opportunities of foreign university involvement, this session aims to foster dialogue on how to build a more interconnected and impactful research environment in Kazakhstan.
